Who Qualifies for Group Funeral Cover?

  • Minimum of 50 full-time, permanent employees
  • Employees must be aged 18–64
  • South African citizens only
  • Choice of one scheme (compulsory or voluntary)
  • Waiting periods may apply for new voluntary scheme members without existing funeral cover

What’s Included in the AVBOB Group Funeral Scheme

Funeral cover for employees, spouses, children, parents-in-law and extended family

Available as compulsory or voluntary group options

Flexible monthly premiums starting from as little as R15

Benefit pay outs from R10 000 to R30 000

Optional extras: cover for parents-in-law and extended family (voluntary only)

Full support from AVBOB’s network of funeral service providers

Group schemes underwritten by AVBOB receive a 15% discount (up to R4 000) on a coffin and service fees for funerals conducted with AVBOB Funeral Service

For transportation claims conducted with AVBOB Funeral Service, the first 60 kilometres is free, after which the applicable rates will apply
